HTML5 Efforts
In addition to all old projects (NAAP simulations, Class Action Peer Intruction Database, and interactive ranking and sorting tasks) being ported into Native Apps for both the Windows and Macintosh operating systems, a number of HTML5 efforts are underway.
- Smartphone Simulations — These simulations are specifically targeted for smartphones (although being HTML5 they run on most everything). Present development has centered upon lunar phases and a simulation on lunar eclipses is under development.
- Pedagogy Videos — A series of videos on YouTube and available locally providing an overview of the pedagogy of teaching with smartphone simulations in the introductory astronomy classroom. The series received funding support from the American Astronomical Society.
- HTML5 Ranking Tasks — Many of these tasks are similar to existing tasks on the interactives page, but have been constructed from the HTML5 Ranking Tasks Development Tool (which is available for public use here).
- Other Sims — A collection of older HTML5 simulations mostly programmed by students.
