Project Description:
This interpretive musical composition for the tenor saxophone was written and composed by Kyle Cartwright. He describes the evolutionary process of a star and how each part inspired his music as well as explaining how the music correlates to each phase.

Author's Notes:
This was my first shot at interpretive composition. I just remember sitting down thinking of each phase that the star goes through and how I could audibly portray that through dynamics and range on the saxophone. I wrote down ideas and just started playing. Then I wrote down a final draft and recorded it. The whole composition just sort of came together, almost flawlessly, and turned out very pleasing and rewarding. It was a lot of fun carrying out this project.
