Through looking at the constellations in the zodiacs pertaining to the Greek and Mayan civilizations, McKenzie discovered that cultures can be captured in the stars. For thousands of years civilizations have used the stars as a means to pass down stories and emphasize images and values that are of importance. By understanding the constellations of a civilization, pieces of their culture can be revealed.
McKenzie constructed two globes that each show the zodiac stars when lit up — one corresponds to the Mayan zodiac and the other corresponds to the Greek zodiac. Her presentation on the Greek and Mayan zodiac's is available in Vidgrid here.
